If you’re familiar with GulfStream Boat Sales, you’ll know that I am extremely wary of older boats – because I know how much of a nightmare they can be. If I can’t be totally sure that I’m not selling someone a boat load of trouble then I will not get involved. Full stop.
Having said that, this boat is about as far removed from the typical older boat scenario as you can get. Having belonged to my engineer’s in-laws, I’ve known this boat for years, I’ve known how well it has been looked after and given the chance to buy it myself and sell it as a stock boat, I jumped on it.
This Bayliner 1952 Capri Cuddy, built in 1994, is an absolute credit to her previous owners.
The boat has only ever been used in fresh water and has been meticulously maintained. In addition to her usual annual service, the sterndrive bellows and water pump impeller were replaced only 2 years ago. She will also be serviced prior to delivery so you’ll have no maintenance to worry about until the end of next season.
This boat is in completely original and untarnished condition. Every single switch, gauge, clip and hinge works perfectly. The gel coat is unblemished and has a lustre like she just let the factory. The condition of this boat really would put many a 4 or 5 year old boats to shame…
As I’m sure you know, if you are looking at boats of around 10 years old or more, then the actual age quickly becomes irrelevant… It’s all about condition!
As well as being in fantastic cosmetic order the boat is mechanically perfect. I personally know how well this boat has been looked after, and I’m confident enough in it to offer her for sale now with a comprehensive 3 month warranty to start at the beginning of the 2016 season.
With a double berth in the cuddy cabin and a full set of camper covers (in great condition) the boat also lends itself well to extended day trips and even the odd overnight stay.
